We provide design, construction, maintenance and expert services in railway signalling and control systems. These include track equipment for automatic train protection, control systems for railway lines and yards, and warning devices for level crossings. We also carry out subcontracting work for international manufacturers of computerized interlocking systems.

We are Finland’s leading company in the installation of automatic train protection systems. We also carry out work on electrified lines (modification and new construction). We are specialists in extensive cabling and lighting installations, and know how to test switching stations for electric railways and emergency generators for ensuring flawless signalling operations.

The Unit is also a Finnish leader in the development of equipment used for constructing and adjusting switch-heating equipment.

One of our biggest railway electrification projects in recent years has been the new Kerava-Lahti route. The electrification design system developed by VR Track Oy for the project has also aroused interest in other countries.

Technological improvements require continuous investment in personnel skills and quality systems. In fact, our company was one of the first entities in Finland granted the right to verify its own electrical work.
